Data for Executives: From Evidence to Decision
Read the report, ask the one question that changes it, and decide on evidence you can defend
Read the report, ask the one question that changes it, and decide on evidence you can defend. ScaleX Innovation · Anis Koubaa. 7 modules · 14 lessons · 1h 2m · Beginner. Audio in English, Arabic, French, Turkish.
A self-paced executive briefing on reading data the way a board should. It does not teach statistics: it shows what a chart is actually telling you, where numbers mislead (correlation, missing data, averages that hide the segments), how sure a forecast really is, the five questions to ask before you sign, and how to turn the answer into a decision memo with a named owner and a review date. Every chart is drawn from real data and shown twice, misleading and honest, side by side. Every figure is sourced and attributed on air. Saudi rules are cited from SDAIA, the National Data Management Office and the Personal Data Protection Law, with US and EU cases for comparison. The narration is available in English, Arabic, French and Turkish.
What you will learn
- Explain why reading the data is the executive's job, and what a wrong reading has cost named organisations
- Read a dashboard chart against its baseline, period and unit, and tell a KPI from a statistic
- Spot the four ways numbers mislead: correlation taken as cause, missing data, hidden segments and moving definitions
- Ask for forecasts as ranges with dates, and know what to do when the model turns out wrong
- Ask the five questions that change a decision before signing off on a number
- Write a one-page decision memo and start a ninety-day plan with a named owner and a review date
